“As Pharaoh approached, the people of Israel looked up and panicked when they saw the Egyptians overtaking them. They cried out to the Lord, and they said to Moses, “Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren’t there enough graves for us in Egypt? What have you done to us? Why did you make us leave Egypt? Didn’t we tell you this would happen while we were still in Egypt? We said, ‘Leave us alone! Let us be slaves to the Egyptians. It’s better to be a slave in Egypt than a corpse in the wilderness!'” But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”… When the people of Israel saw the mighty power that the Lord had unleashed against the Egyptians, they were filled with awe before him. They put their faith in the Lord and in his servant Moses.” Exodus 14:10-14, 31
It’s been a long week and a longer weekend, but I couldn’t let the day get by without addressing my faithful readers! Today I can be short and sweet, because I know you all can relate to what I want to tell you. Think about how many times you’ve come so close to finishing something but then stopped because either the work was too tough or the end just didn’t seem in sight? How often have you let your anxiety talk you out of trying something because you catastrophized the situation and you couldn’t find the worth in doing it? And then how many times have you regretted it once you realized it could have taken you to the next level? Don’t do that! Don’t let Anxiety cancel your place in line for your blessing! Instead, when that situation arises that you think is just too hard, think about the Israelites and the panic they went into when the Egyptians had them cornered at the banks of the Red Sea. They couldn’t see a way through their situation and could only think about how bad it would be if they were caught. But God, through Moses, parted the Red Sea for them and they walked through the impossible to the next phase of their lives. GOD ALWAYS SHOWS UP. Even when we think there’s nothing else we can do, He shows up for us! But waiting for God can be difficult at times, so here’s a few pointers to help you while you wait.
First, remember what’s at stake. When the elevation process seems too hard to handle, think about what you want to elevate from. Nine times out of ten you want to elevate because the place you’re at isn’t fulfilling you in a healthy way. Whether its your job, your education, or your mental health, you didn’t come to the decision that you wanted better lightly so don’t be so quick to throw it away.
Second, appreciate the journey. There are so many lessons in the elevation process that you wouldn’t get otherwise, so think about them before you decide you can’t go on anymore. Think about the affirmations you’ve adopted to your lifestyle, or the strengths you’ve discovered. Think about the coping mechanisms and better ways of getting things accomplished. Keep those lessons close to heart and mind and it will help you remember the value of the journey.
And finally, know your worth. You are worth more than what you’ve been through and there’s a great story on the other end of this overall lesson. Push yourself just a little bit further and a little bit farther. Keep meeting God halfway so He can show you HIS power. Know that the point of it all is to be a better, happier, healthier you and make the decision today that you are worth the work that’s been done.
So, remember what’s at stake, appreciate the journey, and know your worth! All of this will elevate you to the next level as you push through life. I love you, and keep conquering anxiety daily!
