“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who loved God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28
Everything happens for a reason. How many times have you heard that before? If you’re like me, probably all your life. Sometimes its easy to accept, and other times, like when your Anxiety is at a high point, it can be extremely hard. Again, if you’re like me, the times when it’s really hard may match up with when your Confidence is being tested because things are a little Stressful. A project at work just can’t seem to go right, family members are trying your patience, that problem you thought was solved threw you yet another curve ball and you have to approach a solution once again. All of these can be times when it just doesn’t seem like anything is going to work itself out.
So what do you do in those situations? It’s already hard enough being Confident when you deal with Anxiety, how do you power past feelings of Inadequacy to get back to calm? I could give you stories for days of my own dealings with this, and I’m sure some outweigh yours while others pale in comparison. So, to get you back to your day and back to Peace, let’s jump right into affirming you and I’ll give short examples along the way.
Affirmation #1: You’re bigger and better than whatever you’re up against. I’ve been faced with some trying situations that have caused my anxiety to flare up really badly. People talking about me behind my back, accusing me of saying or doing things in my position that I would never do, or worse, misinterpreting something I said and using that false interpretation to try and turn others against me. But in the end, there’s not rumor or word that is going to change overnight the footprint I’ve left for this world. One bad word against me can’t stand against the hundreds of good words said for me. A few people not liking me won’t change the opinions of all the ones who do. And the same can be said for you. Don’t let the small stuff get bigger than you.
Affirmation #2: Nothing has power over you that you don’t allow. You are the master of your fate and even if someone has charge over you, it’s not because you have no choice in the matter. You choose to get up and go to work and report to those in higher positions. You could always choose to stop working there. Now that doesn’t necessarily make it a wise choice, but it’s still a choice and there is power in that. If you can start to see each thing that happens during your day as an opportunity to make a choice in how you deal with it, It won’t be able to control you.
And Affirmation #3: Eventually, it will all come together. Whether it feels good to think it or not, everything DOES happen for a reason, whether you know the reason or not. Paul told the Romans “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who loved God and are called according to his purpose for them.” (Romans 8:28) God allows everything that crosses our path passage to get close to us, and we get to CHOOSE how we deal with it. Those choices determine how quickly and effectively they come together because at the end of the day, only we can get it in the way of the plan. Think about it. If God wants you to leave a job and chase a dream, our choosing to stay in that space means we’re choosing whatever negative things will come into contact with us because we didn’t remove ourselves from the situation. And vise versa, if we choose to walk away too soon we’re going to let that blessing walk right by us. So keep yourself close to God and His promise and watch Him work it all out!
So I leave you with these positive affirmations of blessings on you: You are bigger and better than what you’re up against, Nothing has power over you that you don’t allow, and eventually, it will all come together. Walk in these and let Inadequacy fall away from this moment in your day. I love you all, keep conquering.
