“So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.” Luke 12:32
I can take the leap because I do no fear failure.
One of the biggest things fear gets between is us and our future. How? It prevents us from taking chances because we fear the negative outcomes that could potentially occur as a result. We fear the ‘what ifs’. Is that your story? Is there a chance you’re not taking because you’re afraid of failing? Because you’re petrified of what happens if things don’t go perfectly? Is that what’s keeping you from quitting that job? From writing that book? From taking that chance on yourself with a great unknown sign looming behind it? I’ve been there.
I actually vacation there sometimes. It one of the hardest things we can do in this life… take a chance on ourselves. Why? Because if we fail, what does it mean? In my uneasy anxious state it means things like I never should have been there, or tried it. It means I wasn’t qualified or experienced enough. It means I wasn’t as good as I told myself I was… and most of the time that’s not true. One of my closest friends is in graduate school and every time I turn around she’s applying for scholarships. She actually does the research and finds scholarships related to her field of study and interests and applies. And she has received rejections. I’ve seen the sadness and disappointment in her eyes when she finds out she hasn’t been selected and tons of undergrads have. But I’ve also seen the excitement and celebration when she is awarded. And she never stops gambling on herself. Why? Because why should she count herself out when someone else has already counted her in? When God has already counted her in. All she has to do is leap. So today, I don’t have a bunch of affirmations for you. I have just one:
Affirmation: You are endowed. What does that mean? It means you are provided with a quality, an ability or an asset. It means you already have the inheritance. Inheritance comes to us in different ways. Sometimes it requires someone to pass on, sometimes we have to reach a certain age or experience to access it, but the one thing about an inheritance that doesn’t change is who it belongs to. It is ALWAYS yours. The bible says it gives God GREAT pleasure to give us His kingdom (Luke 12:32). He WANTS us to have it. We just have to keep pursuing it.
So keep pursuing your goals. Keep chasing your dreams. Stop being afraid to take chances on yourself. Stop counting yourself out of situations that have been tailor made for you. See your worth internally, so that the right people can acknowledge it externally. So your enemies have no choice but to acknowledge the greatness within you. Keep embracing your endowment. I love you, and as always, I’m rooting for you. Keep conquering daily.
