“On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation.” Genesis 2:2-3
It’s ok to recharge my batteries and refill my cup so I can get back to being a rockstar.
Sometimes sitting down to write is a challenge because of everything I’ve been doing. I have clients, and projects, and commitments and appointments and it can be a lot, but I try to always come back to my readers and give you the piece of me that I have reserved for you. But sometimes… just sometimes… it’s too much. And the amount of guilt I feel for not writing can be overwhelming. Not to mention my anxiety at times will have me deciding that you all will leave me and not come back because I take a break here and there. So first, thanks for being here and NOT manifesting that irrational thought for me. And second, I bet you can relate!
I bet there are times when you push yourself too far and too hard because you don’t want to let anyone down. You don’t want people to know that you can’t, and you don’t want to be counted out or abandoned or left behind because you needed a little break. But you can only go as far as your batteries will let you and if you don’t recharge them, where will that leave you? So today, we’re all embracing Recovery. Why Recovery? Because by definition, recovery is a return to a normal state of health, mind or strength. It’s the return, for me. See, we all have a state of normalcy that we operate in and we can get back to that if we take the time to recover when we’re tired, damaged or broken. And the beautiful think about “normal” is that it’s fluid and changes as we change. So, how do we embrace recovery? Let’s affirm!
Affirmation 1: Recovery is required. So you know how you get sick and your body forces you to slow down in order to get better? That’s because the body can’t function properly in a less than normal state. Even if we trick ourselves into thinking we’re “good” there’s always a little off-ness if we don’t take the time to truly recover. So take the time!
Affirmation 2: Everybody needs to recover- recovery is normal! Recovery is NORMAL, y’all! We all need it we all do it. Everyone runs out of juice, energy, strength so we all have to recharge. There are different ways to do it and no one way works for everyone so be “normal” (at least in this regard) and take the time to recover!
Affirmation 3: It’s ok to recharge my batteries and refill my cup so I can get back to being a rockstar. This affirmation is just to remind you how fabulous you are and that to keep being fabulous you need to take a break. It’s ok! I want you to be a rockstar and a chart topper so take those hiatuses (guilt free!) and get back to you!
And that’s it, y’all! I’m still in recovery myself (yes, I’ve been sick all week and people didn’t even know it because I hid it really well but now my couch and Redzone are calling!) and I’m going to get back to it. So I love you and I wish wellness and recovery over your life! I’m rooting for you! Keep conquering daily!
